Stephen Finfer and Lil Jon
Stephen Finfer has worked with many high-profile songwriters and performing artists in his day, but perhaps no one bigger than rapper, entrepreneur and producing mogul Dr. Dre. It was actually Dre’s criminal attorney who first approached Finfer. While running his own law firm and management company, Finfer had discovered previously unknown group House of Pain. Shortly thereafter, the tribe’s first single “Jump Around” became an international sensation. Finfer’s success with the group prompted Dr. Dre’s representatives to contact Finfer about starting a new record label. Their collaboration resulted in Death Row Records, which went on to sign some of the most prestigious rappers and hip-hop artists ever.
